REPAIR & TEST

Industrial Electronics Repair &
Obsolete Equipment Support

A failed electronic assembly should not automatically mean replacing the machine.

Industrial equipment often remains mechanically useful long after its electronics become difficult to support. A failed control board, power supply, interface module or custom electronic assembly can stop an otherwise productive machine.

MIRRENO approaches these problems from an engineering perspective: determine what failed, determine whether the assembly can be properly repaired and tested, and identify an alternative path when repair is no longer practical.

Repair, Replace or Retrofit?

01 · REPAIR

Repair the Existing Electronics

When the failure can be identified, corrected and independently tested, repairing the existing assembly may be the most practical path.

02 · REPLACE

Engineer a Functional Replacement

If the original electronics are obsolete or no longer practical to repair, a replacement can sometimes be engineered around the required electrical and functional interfaces.

03 · RETROFIT

Modernize the System

When the original control architecture has become the limiting factor, modern controls, sensors or electronics may provide a more supportable long-term solution.

OUR REPAIR PRINCIPLE

Repair What Can Be Repaired.
Replace What Should Be Replaced.

MIRRENO repairs what we can independently test. A component replacement alone does not establish that an industrial electronic assembly is ready to return to service. The available test method, operating conditions and functional verification are considered when determining whether a repair is appropriate.

Industrial Electronics We Can Evaluate

Each application is reviewed individually. Support depends on the equipment, available technical information, failure mode and our ability to establish an appropriate test method.

Industrial Control Electronics

Control boards, machine electronics, interface assemblies and application-specific industrial control hardware.

Power Electronics & Power Supplies

Power conversion assemblies, industrial power supplies and related electronic power sections where appropriate testing can be established.

Sensor & Interface Electronics

Signal conditioning, sensor interfaces, analog and digital I/O electronics and communication-related assemblies.

Obsolete & Custom Assemblies

Electronic assemblies that are discontinued, unsupported or application-specific and therefore difficult to replace through normal distribution channels.

Our Evaluation Process

01

Review

Review equipment information, symptoms, photos, drawings, manuals and available technical documentation.

02

Diagnose

Evaluate the electronic assembly and identify the probable failure mechanism when practical.

03

Repair & Test

Repair appropriate failures and establish functional verification before considering the work complete.

04

Alternative Path

If repair is not practical, evaluate replacement engineering or retrofit options where appropriate.

What if the Original Board Is Obsolete?

Obsolescence does not always require replacement of the entire machine. If the function of the original electronics can be sufficiently understood, MIRRENO can evaluate whether a functional replacement or system retrofit is technically practical.

This can involve understanding power requirements, I/O, sensors, communication, control behavior and physical interfaces, then developing an appropriate modern solution.
